Schuyler (pronounced like "Skyler") is the old man of Castle Farm, the self-proclaimed "head of the herd". He is great with children, and has the patience of Job. He is only 11.2 hands (46 inches) tall, which makes him a favorite among children. He is also a celebrity at the NC State University Vet Hospital, since Schuyler was used as a study horse, when he was first born, for fescue toxicosis.

At her first show, she won three championships, including the SWANA (Swedish Warmblood Association of North America) High Scorer award for scoring more points than any other Swedish Warmblood at the show of any age. At her inspection, she received the highest ranking possible for a Swedish Warmblood: Class 1. She is currently competing in dressage and schooling over fences. He has legs like "tree trunks" according to Suzin Daly (the stallion's owner), and should make a wonderful hunter/jumper prospect. Butch is currently up for sale. You can find out more about his sales information and see videos of him on the sales page of this website.

Cisco is the most recent purchase for Castle Farm. He LOVES to canter and jump and he does both very smoothly. He has a great attitude and really loves people, so he's easy to fall in love with. He has a great future here at Castle Farm! You can click here to check out a video of Cisco at his first show. He acted like he does at home and just took it all in. He won his jumper class as well!

Name: Dyblu Double Diamond
AKA: "Dover"
Stats:2000 Section A Welsh Pony gelding
Owned by: Castle Farm
Used for: riding and driving lessons

Dover is one of the cutest little ponies I have ever seen (don't tell Schuyler :) ). He is a purebred Welsh pony with very refined conformation. He is broke to ride and drive, but has been out of shape for a while. We will be getting him back to work slowly and, hopefully, start using him for driving lessons and also riding lessons for small children. His personality is perfect for a lesson program and he really loves kids and lots of attention!

Solie belongs to Heather's mother, Liz Murphy, and is on loan to Castle Farm as a lesson horse. He fills our need for a big, solid lesson horse. He has the temperament of a Western horse but the skills of an English horse, as well as a love for jumps. He has also shown himself to be a very good show horse, and has taken several riders to awards through the years.

Sandi has changed ownership but still remains at Castle Farm - yeah!! Sandi is loved by many, but especially her new owner Dominique. Sandi is a really good jumper and likes to go fast - probably why Dominique likes her so much. This pair is looking to come out in the eventing world, so watch out!

Name: Katelyn's Gypsy Diamond
AKA: "Gypsy"
Stats: 1998 black and white paint pony mare

April 2010 Sharon Oaks Hunter Show Walk/Trot 12 & Under Reserve Champion (with rider Alexis Hartman)

Gypsy is Katelyn's first pony. She has proven to be sturdy and spunky. She loves to jump, but sometimes has a hard time containing her excitement. She and Katelyn get along really well, and she is loved by others at the farm as well.

Name: Honey Nut Cheerio
AKA: "Cheerio"
Stats:1990 Welsh/Quarter pony gelding
Owned by: Chelsea Tipton
Used for: Eventing, lessons
November 2009 Sharon Oaks Hunter Show Baby Green Hunter Division Champion (with rider Chelsea Tipton)

Cheerio and Chelsea have just moved to Castle Farm in search of instruction and wide, open spaces. Cheerio is a wise, older horse that definitely has his own way of doing things. He is very sweet, although willfull, and he is a great jumper. He should be a lot of fun to ride!

Name: Flo Jos Ultimator
AKA: "Patti"
Stats: 2004 Quarter Horse mare
Owned by: Lois and Heather Mercer
Used for: Eventing, hunters, lessons

After many months of leasing, dreaming and saving, Lois and Heather have finally purchased Patti as their own. Lois is looking forward to enjoying life as a first time horse owner (it's never too late), and also competing in hunter competitions. Heather enjoys eventing, and since Patti is such a versatile horse, she is perfect for both jobs. Patti is a laid back, quiet and sweet horse that everyone will enjoy. We are very happy that she is making Castle Farm a permanent home!

Name: Anastasia
AKA: "Annie"
Stats: 2001 Thoroughbred mare
Owned by: Ashley Godfrey
Used for: Eventing, lessons

Annie is Ashley's newest mount, and her first mare! Annie is very kind tempered and moves very gracefully. She is also a great jumper, having already competed up to training level eventing and schooled at preliminary level. Annie is a perfectionist, who will tolerate a few mistakes as her riding is learning, but will set you straight if you start to make too many. She has a lot of power and potential, so we are looking forward to seeing Ashley and Annie get to know each other and figure out just how far they can go. The stars are the limit!

Name: Max's Beautiful Babe
AKA: "Panda"
Stats: 2002 Paint mare
Owned by: Lauren Buslinger
Used for:pleasure horse, lessons

Panda has just moved to Castle Farm so that she can learn to jump and hopefully, pursue jumping with her owner, Lauren. Panda is a big and beautiful paint horse that has previous experience in a lesson program. She was briefly introduced to jumping, and really seemed to enjoy it. We can't wait to see what she will look like when she really starts to fly!

Name: Dylan Michael King

Stats: 2002 King Farmhand male
Purpose: Progeny

Dylan's second Walk/Trot class
Dylan's third Walk/Trot class
See Dylan in his first unassisted horse show class!

Warning: this video is large

Dylan is the heir apparent to Castle Farm. His hobbies include drums, teeball, playing with trains and Nerf blasters. He has competed in walk/trot classes, but he really enjoys joining his mother on hunter paces and driving events.

Name: Lord Kerberos of Knightdale Tara's Sassi Scarlett
AKA: "Kerbie" "Sassi"
Stats: 2001 Catahoula male (N) 1995 Chow-chow female (S)
Purpose: Associate guard dog and homeowner's nightmare Guard dog, lap dog, alarm clock

Sassi is our barn dog. She gets along great with everyone (some guard dog) except Jack and Kerbie. :) Sassi has also recently become our mascot at horse shows. I never used to believe in taking a dog to shows, I just thought they would get in the way, but Sassi started begging me - to point of getting in the car and not moving, or standing in front of the truck when she thinks I am about to leave for a horse show. So now, Sassi goes on every horse excursion with us - she is very patient at the trailer and loves the ride! Kerbie is our other barn dog. His name comes from a Greek version of the mythological guard dog Cerberus (who the Harry Potter character "Fluffy" was based on), and so far, he's only got one head.

Name: Jack Daniels
AKA: Jack, TCFAI (The Cat Formerly Allowed Inside)
Stats: ~1998 Domestic shorthair male (N)
Purpose: Barn cat, example to misbehaving cats everywhere

Jack once enjoyed the luxuries of being an indoor cat, but he started the bad hobby of chewing photographs and breaking collectibles that happen to be within reach. So, he was banished to the barn, where he lives "la vida sucia" (the dirty life) with the other residents of Castle Farm. As he gets older, I have decided to allow him access to our barn lounge (which has heat and AC). It has since been dedicated as "Jack's Lounge".

Name: Captain Morgan
AKA: Morgan
Stats: 2006 Domestic shorthair female (S)
Purpose: Barn kitten, traveling companion, show companion

Morgan was the last kitten to be adopted from a litter of 4. She is very sweet, yet very playful too! She is a great barn kitty when she's not busy yelling at someone. She loves to stalk everything in sight, including dogs! She is very brave, which usually gets her in a lot of trouble. Morgan is much loved by everyone at Castle Farm.
